Our Founding
Founded in 2006 by a dedicated group of Boghe expatriates in the United States, the Greater Boghe Association began with a simple yet powerful vision: to create a transparent pipeline for diaspora members to invest directly in their heritage community. Our early efforts focused on mobilizing annual dues and small donations to address immediate needs in education and healthcare.
Over the years, GBA has grown into a robust volunteer-led organization, expanding its reach to civic development and infrastructure projects. Our model emphasizes direct community engagement and accountability, ensuring every contribution translates into tangible progress on the ground in Boghe, Mauritania. We are built on the principle of dignified partnership.
